Over 1000 FFP2 masks for „SoNe Bernried“

Bernried – In times of pandemic, the company „Microcoat“ regularly orders larger batches of CE-certified FFP2 protective masks for its employees. In its most recent order, the Bernried-based biotechnology company ordered more than 1,000 masks – namely for the „Soziale Netz Bernried“ (Bernried Social Network). At the local neighborhood help center, which primarily looks after senior citizens, they were delighted with the donation in kind. “ Senior citizens sometimes can’t just quickly drive to the pharmacy and get masks,“ explained Ingried Klemm-Beyer, second president of „SoNe Bernried,“ at the handover of the donation in the office of Mayor Georg Malterer.
The FFP2 masks are to be distributed as needed and saved for a possible larger vaccination campaign in Bernried. Whether such a vaccination collection event is possible still needs to be clarified. Internally, however, planning for this is already underway. In Bernried, so stated „SoNe“ chairman Peter steel, live nevertheless scarcely 200 seniors at the age over 80 years. A concentrated vaccination campaign would therefore make perfect sense: „And the masks would fit the bill perfectly,“ said Stahl.
Activities of the „SoNe“ such as the popular „Wednesday Cinema“ are currently severely restricted or not possible due to the pandemic. For the target group, this means a loss of quality of life. „For the seniors, it’s about time there was some relaxation,“ Klemm-Beyer says. „Many feel very lonely.“ the supply of food and groceries is „super solved“ in Bernried via various delivery services, but the seniors simply lack social contacts: „These cannot be replaced by telephone calls either,“ says Klemm-Beyer.
